The Theodore Roosevelt desk was probably one of the most notoriously famous desk in the history of the United States. Having been constructed in 1903, it was used in the Oval Office by no less than five presidents up to a fire that damaged the Office in 1929. Richard Nixon also used the desk in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, and it is known that the famous Watergate tapes were made with the use of a device concealed in the desk’s drawers.
Henry the VIII’s writing desk was a curious product of the royal workshop that features intricate artwork and was introduced to the ruler of England around the year 1526. The desk remains a priceless historic artifact, and is currently held in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
